FC Bayern could strengthen the right-back position in the near future. How “sports1” reported, Noussair Mazraoui (24) from Ajax Amsterdam has given the German record champions his promise of a change next summer. The defender would be available on a free transfer as his contract with the Dutch giants expires at the end of the season. With a market value of 20 million euros, the defender would become the third most valuable free transfer signing in the history of the Munich club.
In particular, a meeting in Amsterdam between Mazraoui and the FCB officials around Hasan Salihamidzic is said to have convinced the player. In addition to Munich, FC Barcelona is also associated with Mazraoui. However, the Catalans appear to be getting nothing. There have recently been reports that Blaugrana made an initial offer. In the course of these developments, Mazraoui commented on the rumors and made it clear that “nothing was final” with the Spanish top club, “not even close”. Although the right-footed man once named Spain as his dream destination, there are now many indications of a move to the Bundesliga. In Munich, Mazraoui could be the first reinforcement for the coming season. So far, only the departure of Niklas Süle (26) in the direction of Borussia Dortmund is certain in terms of transfers.
According to “Sport1”, the Bundesliga champions recently stopped courting other candidates such as Pedro Porro (22) from Sporting Lisbon and Ridle Baku (23) from VfL Wolfsburg. Although Munich are said to have secured Mazraoui’s commitment, according to the report nothing has been signed, as the final financial details are still to be clarified. However, the club is confident of completing the deal, as it is said to have given a better endowed overall package than FC Barcelona in terms of salary, which is just over EUR 10 million gross per year, and a sporting perspective. Mazraoui is said to be the new regular on the right side of defense for the German record champions, while Benjamin Pavard (26) will be in central defense in the future.
