Friend and foe agree: Renze Klamer is by far the biggest talk show talent that RTL has walked around. Is he the big savior of the late evening of RTL 4 now that RTL Tonight turns out to be a big flop?
It is unprecedented how Peter van der Vorst does it in order not to value one of his great talents: Renze Klamer can become the big star of the late evening of RTL 4, but Peter Staart is blindly at his prestige project RTL Tonight. It is a huge flop, while the channel with Renze has a growth brilliant in the house. Will he soon be the big savior?
“Stop ZSM!”
Private boss Evert Santegoeds thinks it is not yet too late to save the late evening of RTL 4, but according to him, the station should stop RTL Tonight as quickly as possible. “The audience has agreed with each other not to look at it,” he explains in the podcast Strictly private.
He continues: “Then you can do interventions and meet and crisis council, and so on, but the program is simply not good. It is infected, just like bar late. People didn’t feel like it and this is really much worse. It seems to me to be quickly made quickly.”
Big bag of money
Co-host Jordi Versteegden sees only one possibility. “I just think they should put Renze there. I know he has doubts about doing it full -time, but give him a big bag of money. I don’t know if he can be poking for that, but …”
Evert: “You should be able to work six months a year, you would say.”
Jordi: “Yes, Eva does that too. He does it for eight months. That could also be a construction.”
Eliminated
Renze can become the saving angel of RTL 4, says Evert. “That seems to me too. Then you have the entire summer to recover and recharge and then just do another season Renze, but Humberto Tan is all so ready … Beau too, extinguished.”
The only bright spot for RTL Tonight is that the market shares in the commercial target group are fine, but according to Evert that is not such a performance. According to him, there is no competition anymore at that time. “Yes, those market shares are so good because it is so late!” The private bobo concludes.
