Extra rental properties must be added urgently. That is the central message in the latest edition of the rent barometer of the Confederation of Immobiliën professions (CIB). “For the first time in our number series (which will start in 2018) we saw less than 50,000 new leases in Flanders. In a normal year, that number is always above 55,000.”
According to the real estate movement, the increase in the rental prices thereof is a cause. On average you paid 838 euros in West Flanders last year in West Flanders. An increase of 5.5 percent compared to the previous year. “In 2024, rental prices increased more than inflation,” says CIB.
