Renovation works Bombardier Bridge in Bruges have started

In order to carry out the works smoothly and safely, the bridge will be closed to all traffic from 20 February. Cyclists and pedestrians can follow a diversion via the Bargeweg (see photo below).

Two new bridge piers

De Vlaamse Waterweg will, among other things, renovate the steel bridge deck and repair the concrete components. Two new bridge piers under the approach ramps should also temper the bridge vibrations.

Placing the steel bridge section over the canal is planned for the second half of June. Work should be completed by the end of August. The total renovation will cost approximately 1.3 million euros.
