After a long period of speculation, Johan Derksen, Wilfred Genee and René van der Gijp finally signed the new Talpa contract live in VI yesterday, which connects them to SBS 6 for another two years. With an exclusive option for a third year. In other words: the chances are definitely lost for the major competitor RTL.

1.2 to 1.4 million

The gentlemen go according to it AD financially ahead: they would receive a salary of between 1.2 and 1.4 million euros per person per year. A disappointment, says former SBS 6 boss Tina Nijkamp. She previously said that the gentlemen are worth 2.5 million euros (!) A year.

Now that the gentlemen are really fixed, Tina writes: “Nice! In terms of money, more could have been earned if these amounts were correct. They are worth much more if you link it to advertising revenue, number of broadcasts and image of the channel. But the men looked very happy just on air during signing. And that’s what it’s all about, of course.”

René confesses bonje

During the contract negotiations, Johan, Wilfred and René were not exactly on the same page. At one point, the frustration was so high that René expressed strong criticism of Johan live on television, namely about his behavior in the broadcast with Mark Rutte. Then a fierce argument took place behind the scenes: “Who do you think you are!”

How does René look back on this turbulent process? He told it on camera last night, after the live contract signing in VI Show news. “I have to say very honestly: we have now signed for two years, but I always look at it from week to week.”

Biggest bonbon

René: “We’re having a great time anyway, it’s going well, but sometimes we can suddenly get the biggest bang for the most petty things. Then I think again: it’s time to flip that program again, but then it will be all right again in the end. So I just see those two years as a number.”

Colleague Johan then laughs: “I always say: the size of the contract maintains the solidarity of the three of us.”
