He is ready. He will assert himself, play and help. I hope the PSG Alphas recognize that too. In terms of type, he doesn’t really fit the team, and by that I don’t mean athletically, he fits in wonderfully, but in terms of his character. He is humble, no posturing and a very decent person. And although both speak Portuguese, Neymar and he couldn’t have less in common. Here more shine than his (was intentional), and on the other side a down-to-earth, relatively shy worker with what I believe is still incredibly great potential, and so damn much talent. When I saw him at the European Championships and initially at Bayern, I thought he would prevail at Bayern. He was so mature at 18 and instinctively doing the right thing so often, despite his eye candy technique and unmistakable if at times boisterous dynamism. Then somehow and eventually a break came. I still think he felt like he was on the verge of it. At the time, some Bayern players said that what Sanches presented in training was often world class.
If PSG (and by that I mean the team) manages to support and integrate him (and by that I mean human, really care about him), which I think on the surface some players felt more concerned with their egos and their haircuts are as with the team structure (that’s how I see it from the outside now, PSG fans enlighten me); then Renato Sanches will be an absolute win for the team, and a steal at the price.
