Orange smoke, thousands of flags: the celebration of FC Volendam can rightly be called a spectacle. Players and staff of ‘the new orange’ were welcomed by thousands of supporters in the fishing port of the village. It was a big party to celebrate the promotion to the Eredivisie.

The starting point of the ceremony was the port of Volendam. Here the players were brought in by boat. Subsequently, with the illustrious Back and forth set course from the Zeestraat towards the Kras stadium.

In the stadium, the players and technical staff were honored on a podium. The stadium was packed. The players provided the biggest party, but performances by Gerard Joling and John de Bever ensured that the festivity was heightened.

And finally, back to two weeks ago: the reason why there is a party today. Then FC Volendam secured the promotion by winning against FC Den Bosch.
Even then, the players were welcomed as heroes. So today was a bit over the top with that.
