Joep Wennemars has won the title in the 1000 meters for the first time at the National Distance Championships in Heerenveen. The 23-year-old world champion from Team Essent stayed ahead of Tim Prins in a direct duel with 1.07.17 and was also faster than defending champion Jenning de Boo.
