Relegated Jong FC Volendam continues without trainer Kiki Musampa

Kiki Musampa is leaving FC Volendam as head coach of the U21 team. The 45-year-old coach was at the helm of Jong FC Volendam for a year and a half. He was relegated last season The New Orange from the second division.

Halfway through the previous season, Musampa took over from Johan Plat, who left for PEC Zwolle. Before that he worked as a youth coach at FC Volendam. At the time he joined Jong FC Volendam, he was also assistant national coach of Erwin van de Looi at the Dutch Juniors.

Last season, relegation was narrowly averted with play-offs against Jong Almere City. This season, Musampa finished penultimate in the second division, after which relegation to the third division was a fact. Assistant coach Harry Zuurveld also leaves Volendam. It is not yet known who will be in charge of the U21 team next year.

Musampa will prepare for the European Championships in Romania and Georgia with the Dutch Juniors. After that, the former football player of Ajax, among others, will see where he will continue his coaching career.

This season, Kiki Musampa was a guest in football talk show De Aftrap and he spoke about the combination between Jong Oranje and Jong FC Volendam.
