Relegated Fürth and Bielefeld start the second division season without a win – St. Pauli beats Nuremberg

Jahn wins against Darmstadt

SpVgg Greuther Fürth missed the longed-for opening win when they returned to the 2nd Bundesliga. The enthusiastic and determined Franconians had to be content with a 2:2 (0:1) against Holstein Kiel on Saturday. In front of 8,756 spectators, Fürth was able to take a lot of momentum for the upcoming tasks.

Timo Becker converted the guests’ first real chance to score with a volley in the 29th minute. After a slalom shot through captain Branimir Hrgota’s penalty area, Julian Green (48′) crashed into the net to equalise. Timothy Tillman (76th) increased for the team of the new Swiss coach Marc Schneider. After a foul by Simon Asta on Oscar Pichler, Alexander Mühling (80th) was successful from the point for Kiel.

Double pack Kinsombi: Bielefeld loses in Forte debut against SV Sandhausen

Uli Forte experienced a bitter competitive debut as coach of Arminia Bielefeld. The Italian lost with the East Westphalians 1:2 (0:1) at SV Sandhausen and saw the red card. The 48-year-old threw the ball back onto the field two minutes before the break – just as the hosts wanted to throw in another ball.

FC St. Pauli successfully starts the promotion mission: Victory vs. 1. FC Nürnberg

The reorganized FC St. Pauli made a successful debut at the start of the new season. Against the equally ambitious 1. FC Nürnberg, the younger team of coach Timo Schultz celebrated a well-deserved, albeit still shaky 3:2 (3:0) win on Saturday and immediately oriented towards the top of the table.

In front of 28,582 spectators in the Millerntor Stadium, Jackson Irvine (24th minute) and the outstanding Leart Paqarada (37th, penalty kick) and Lukas Daschner (39th) scored the goals for the strong neighborhood club. New signing Kwadwo Duah (46′) and Enrico Valentini (90′ + 3′) scored for the by no means disappointing FCN, who were unable to avert the first setback.

Jahn Regensburg uses an early goal and a majority against Darmstadt 98

SSV Jahn Regensburg started the new season with a win. The footballers from the Upper Palatinate won 2-0 (1-0) against SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday. In front of 8,509 spectators, Joshua Mees (1st minute) gave his team the lead in the Jahnstadion shortly after the kick-off, Andreas Albers (67. ) scored the second hit.

Jahn got into the game well. A few seconds after the kick-off, Regensburg took the ball, and a low cross from Nicklas Shipnoski across the penalty area to Mees gave the early lead. The team coached by Mersad Selimbegovic had more of the game at the beginning and from the 36th minute after a yellow-red card for Darmstadt defender Patric Pfeiffer they even played outnumbered for a long time.

Darmstadt got into the game better in the second half – Magnus Warming (52′) couldn’t take advantage of his chance a few meters in front of the goal, Marvin Mehlem (63′) put the ball from 20 meters to the left of the goal. Then Regensburg used their superiority: A long ball from Benedikt Saller landed in Albers in the penalty area, who defeated keeper Marcel Schuhen on the second try. The home side should have increased with Prince Owusu (74th) and again Albers (76th).
