Relatively few stateless persons applied for a passport: ‘Obstacles remain’

Of the more than 8,000 stateless persons who have been able to apply for a Dutch passport since the relaxation of 1 November, 1,670 people have already done so until 1 January. This is evident from figures that NU.nl has requested from the Ministry of Justice and Security. The group itself welcomed the decision, but in practice there are still obstacles to the application.
