The Berlin Senate continues to argue about refugee policy. A comment from BZ editor Stefan Peter

It looks as if large parts of the Berlin SPD still have not recognized the seriousness of the situation. When it comes to the refugee crisis, the left wing of the party sees no reason to rethink its positions.

A deportation stop until April, cash also for rejected asylum seekers, three special programs for refugees – the comrades want to stick to that. There is also a social senator who acts like a frightened chicken in the face of the unchecked influx

The CDU does not want and will not let the coalition fail because of this, but trouble in the Senate is programmed. But perhaps poor election results on Sunday will also cause the SPD to give in?
