Redding shoots after “Schwalbe” against Aegerters

Supersport World Champion Dominique Aegerter gambled away some sympathy at the race weekend in Most (Czech Republic). After his fall in the first race, the Swiss man simulated an injury and wanted to provoke the race to be abandoned.

Aegerter received a race ban for this action, which he made up for in race two. The former Grand Prix driver has already admitted his mistake and apologized.

The majority of the racing driver colleagues did not want to comment on the incident on Saturday. However, BMW works driver Scott Redding could not contain his anger and criticized Aegerter for his action. In addition, Redding advocated the severe punishment of the race stewards to ban Aegerter for one race.

“It’s the right decision,” notes Redding. “Bottom line, he was down, other riders were coming, but the marshals were also risking their lives. So it’s not just that he wasn’t taking some risk to force a red flag. He was also risking other lives game,” criticizes Redding.

“Okay, he’s world champion and leads the championship, but that doesn’t give you any special rights. That doesn’t make you God,” comments the former Superbike runner-up, adding: “You have to follow the same rules as the other riders. “

According to Redding, the fact that the race directors cracked down was an important signal: “I think it was a good decision. Otherwise, drivers would copy this behavior if they fall. We don’t need that in a fall. It was an ugly maneuver. That’s what you do simply not.”
