‘Red Sebastian’ Strobe Lights will clearly hear more often. The Oostdenaar can go to Basel in Switzerland in May to represent our country at the Eurovision Song Contest. He won the Belgian competition of seven other candidates, including two West Flemish people: Le Manou and Stefanie Callebaut.

In terms of sound, the song is an ode to the thumping beats of the rav culture from the 90s. The song is a canzen piece on a vocalist: it very consciously shows everything of Seppe Herreman’s vocal abilities, both in the high and low registers. His act was also strongly put together, with a high lift. “That was a bit scary, but I really enjoyed it,” he said afterwards.

Fun fact: the producer Willem Vanderstichele also has a West-Flemish link. He is from Aalbeke. Vanderstichele also produces four other Eurosong numbers.
