It is expected that both teams will only show one model, because the first test days will not be held behind closed doors until the end of January in Barcelona. From 2026, new regulations will apply in Formula 1, making the engines simpler and therefore cheaper. The announced presentation is the official introduction of Red Bull Powertrains-Ford, the new engine project. Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies calls the launch “a bold step towards the future”.

“Since announcing our return to F1 with Red Bull, the Ford team has been working day and night to be ready for 2026,” Ford chief executive Jim Farley said in a statement. “But this is about so much more than just racing.”
