“The greatest possible nonsense”
Formula 1 racing team is angry with Ralf Schumacher

The Red Bull racing team reacted littlely to a theory of Sky expert Ralf Schumacher, which he had expressed after the Formula 1 race in Spain. At the Grand Prix in Barcelona, an incident had occurred in the final rounds, in which Red Bull driver Max Verstappen rammed the Mercedes by George Russell. For the campaign, the reigning world champion was awarded a 10-second penalty and ended up only tenth instead of fifth.
Schumacher then suspected that Verstappen had deliberately provoked the punishment in order to collect fewer points in the World Cup. The background: According to reports, Verstappen should have an exit clause in his contract, which allows him to change the team despite a contract until 2028 after the current season. Prerequisite for this: The Dutchman has to be worse in the World Cup in the champion World Cup in the half of the season. So Schumacher speculates that Verstappen wants to provoke his escape from the weakening Austrian racing team – and deliberately gives away points.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, however, rejected speculation with clear words: “This theory is the greatest possible nonsense,” he told the “Bild” newspaper. “I haven’t heard something like that for a long time. Max is a racer through and through. He always wants to win and would never act like this,” continued the Brit.
Schumacher and Red Bull have been more common in the past because the racing team displaced statements by the TV expert. There is therefore already a pronunciation at the race in Japan.
