“It was very strange. The first three sets of tires we had an incredible amount of wear. We couldn’t explain that. And the funny thing was: on that last set of tires we were fast again. There was nothing wrong with the car, but with the tires and in particular their excessive temperature. It was a good decision to switch to a three-stop strategy.”
Verstappen eventually lost only five points to winner Charles Leclerc, counting over the entire weekend in Austria. Marko: “We limited the damage.
