Red Bull is convinced that royal transfer Jürgen Klopp will take the football division of the brewery empire to a new level.
“Jürgen should of course help us to develop further and become better – with his incredible expertise, his positive energy and inspiring nature,” said Red Bull managing director Oliver Mintzlaff RTL/ntv and sport.de before the introduction of the new “Head of Global Soccer” at the company headquarters in Fuschl.
“We are all convinced that with him we can reach the next level for our international club network,” Mintzlaff continued: “Jürgen’s profile is what we have been missing so far. It is what drives us “To want to improve every day and that’s what Jürgen is known for. Always looking forward, always looking for innovative approaches and ideas.”
The 57-year-old is “without a doubt a perfect fit” for Red Bull. “He was impressed by everything we do here and how we do it – not just in football, but especially in relation to the many different athletes,” Mintzlaff gave an insight into how Red Bull convinced the coaching icon of their commitment.
Jürgen Klopp is a “fan of different sports” and is therefore “excited about the opportunities we have at Red Bull, because we have the chance to create synergies and think outside the box,” said the Bull boss.

As Head of Globar Soccer, Klopp has been responsible for all of Red Bull’s football activities since January 1st. Instead of being on the training pitch every day, the former champion of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool will work in the background at Red Bull.
Klopp’s role is a higher-level one; he should not intervene in day-to-day business. Rather, he should bring his playing philosophy into the football cosmos of the brewery company. Klopp should also use his expertise to advance Red Bull in scouting and the selection and training of coaches and talent. He will work closely with Mario Gomez. The ex-scorer has been employed as technical director at RB since 2022.
Red Bull has built a global football empire in recent years: Bragantino in Brazil, Omiya Ardija in Japan, the New York Red Bulls in the USA as well as Red Bull Salzburg in Austria and RB Leipzig.
Klopp was already in the stadium at RB Leipzig and saw the Bundesliga club’s 4-2 win against Werder Bremen last Sunday
