The opening program, which was organized within the scope of the project aimed at supporting the physical, psychological and social goodness of children and young people affected by the Earthquakes of February 6, 2023, started with the project promotion film screening. One of the most remarkable parts of the event was the seminar on “Psychology and Trauma Management”. Seminar, Psychological Counseling and Guidance Specialist Volkan Tatar, Kahramanmaraş İstiklal Sports Basketball Club President Hikmet Gümüşer and Türkiye A National Basketball Team actors Gökhan Şirin participated as speakers.
Volkan Tatar emphasized that the traumas experienced by children and young people should be both individual and socially sensitive, “Post -traumatic recovery may only be possible through safe areas and supportive people. These projects play a very valuable role in the construction of those safe areas.”
Hikmet Gümüşer pointed out the transformative power of sports on young people, “Team sports such as basketball helps both our children to gain self -confidence and re -connect them. It is important for the sport to take an active role in social projects such as Red Bicycle Raispered Marathon Project.”
A National Basketball Team player Gökhan Şirin in his impressive conversation on the stage, “I was once a little boy and I found myself running after a ball and I held my dreams. Today to be with you, to show you that you are not alone in this challenging process.
Following the seminar, Onur was presented a plaque to the guests. In the second part of the program, the artist Alican Doğan took the stage and gave the participants moments full of music.
Within the scope of the project, the painting exhibition, which includes the works of children throughout the year, and the promotion of special books written and illustrated by children were also involved in the event. The event ended with the mini basketball ceremony and collective photography shooting in the evening.
