Recovery of passenger flights at Ostend continues

“In 2018, we welcomed 52,800 passengers,” said CEO Eric Dumas. Compared to 2019, the number of passengers is 15.8% lower. This winter, 3 less destinations were offered from Ostend.”

The airport also expects further recovery, as additional destinations will be added later this month.

Freight is also rising slightly

Not only passenger traffic, but also freight transport via Ostend Airport rose slightly to 13,200 tons. Last year it was 10,854 tons. “We are therefore cautiously looking at the next few months,” says Dumas. “In terms of cargo, the second quarter is always a quiet period.”
