Recovered Tony van Diepen immediately convinces with a personal record

Tony van Diepen has recovered well from his hamstring injury. The 26-year-old athlete from Alkmaar recorded a personal top time of 1 minute, 46 seconds and 36 hundredths in the 800 meters in Liévin, France.

Van Diepen recently suffered a nasty hamstring injury. It was feared for his participation in the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul at the beginning of March. After a quick recovery, the athlete returned to action for the first time in France. He did so with a time that was thirteen hundredths faster than his personal best.

Dear Klaver

In the 400 meters for women, Lieke Klaver finished second in the B final. The 24-year-old athlete from Enkhuizen clocked a time of 51 seconds and 42 hundredths. Isayah Boers finished second in the men’s 400 meters. The Phanos athlete did that in 46 seconds and 60 hundredths.

Koen Smet, like Van Diepen, returned from an injury. The 30-year-old from Amsterdam started on the 60-meter hurdles, but broke off that race after two hurdles. Menno Vloon failed to convince in the pole vault. The Zaankanter stranded at a height of 5.73 metres.
