Hasret Kayikci has been playing for SC Freiburg for 14 years, and has written the Breisgauer in the history books. But another years will not be added.
Freiburg’s record player Hasret Kayikci will end her active career in summer. The long -time captain of the Breisgauer, who had to struggle with injuries again and again, announced her farewell to professional football.
Kayikci has been playing for SC Freiburg since 2011 and scored 78 goals in 224 competitive games. Previously, the 33-year-old was active for FCR Duisburg, with whom she won the DFB Cup and once the UEFA Cup twice.
In August 2023, Kayikci suffered her third cruciate ligament tear and is still in rehab. “I had an incredibly nice time when I loved every minute in the field,” she said. The common successes and setbacks with their teammates and the club were particularly important for them.
