No September statement and still no Flemish support measures: a crisis atmosphere hung over the Flemish government today. One man was designated by Open Vld and N-VA as the major culprit: CD&V chairman Sammy Mahdi. For a moment, Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) even lost his patience and the negotiators also expressed open nostalgia for Hilde Crevits. Thus passed the 23 nerve-wracking hours before the negotiations finally broke down.
