His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Máxima received the participants of the Ambassadors’ Conference at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague on Monday, February 2. Her Royal Highness Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven were present at the reception, as were Minister Van Weel of Foreign Affairs and Minister De Vries for Foreign Trade and Development Aid.
The annual Ambassadors’ Conference will take place from Monday February 2 to Thursday February 5. The Dutch ambassadors, permanent representatives and consuls general who work for the Netherlands worldwide will then be in The Hague for a working conference on how they represent the interests of the Netherlands abroad. During the Ambassadors’ Conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomats deepen contacts with politicians, the business community, aid organizations, knowledge institutions and social organizations in the Netherlands.
