The Bafta Film Gala was celebrated in London on Sunday. However, it was wanted to keep it at a slightly lower profile due to the war in Ukraine.

Among other things, participants were asked to restrain their attire. In practice, this meant that guests were not wanted to arrive in luxury or controversial outfits.

The presenter of the Bafta gala, actor Rebel Wilson, 42, rose to headlines worldwide by joking about the royal family.

However, he also had an issue with the Russian president, To Vladimir Putin.

“This is my gesture to Putin,” Wilson announced, raising his middle finger.

This happened in a situation where Wilson was introducing the next musical performance. In that context, Wilson also said that two sign language interpreters will be seen on stage.

His own “sign”, his international handwriting, left nothing to be interpreted.

Other stars in the entertainment world have sent Putin their greetings.

Among other things, one of the largest visa legends in Ukraine, Verka Serdjutškaposted an image on Instagram in early March showing a middle finger with a colleague:

– Away! Off! Off, Verka wrote in Ukrainian in connection with the picture, referring to Putin’s actions.

The middle finger was also shown to Putin at the Independent Spirit Awards gala a week ago. At that time, the middle finger was first waved by the presenters of the gala Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, who also asked the audience to join in the gesture.

After that, at least the actor Kristen Stewartin was seen with the middle finger upright.
