There is still speculation about Robert Lewandowski’s future at Bayern Munich. Most recently, the world footballer made a rather depressed impression despite the championship title he had achieved. Now it becomes clear why this is so.

The bare facts are clear: Robert Lewandowski’s contract is dated until 2023. The club bosses have already emphasized that they want to extend the striker, but little has happened since then. That’s exactly why the 33-year-old seems to be getting more and more thoughtful at the moment.

According to “Sky”, Lewandowski is burdened by the uncertainty about his future. “The situation is doing something to him,” said reporter Florian Plettenberg, adding: “It will be a different summer for Lewandowski.”

Allegedly, Lewandowski also felt that FC Bayern was dealing with BVB shooting star Erling Haaland. Most recently, Haaland confidante Jan Aage Fjörtoft even revealed that the people of Munich are said to be still doing this.

That’s why “Sky” speculates that Lewandowski doesn’t like what’s happening behind the scenes with the German record champions.

After it sounded from the club side in recent weeks that Lewandowski was already in intensive talks with those responsible, the Polish international let it be known at the weekend that there had been no negotiations so far. “Something will happen soon,” said the attacker on “Sky” and explained meaningfully: “The only thing I know is that there will be a meeting.”

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic downplayed the Lewandowski cause on “Sky90”. “He has a contract until 2023, we have all the time in the world to talk,” said the 45-year-old, but admitted: “We haven’t negotiated yet.”

Salihamidzic: Lewandowski is “top earner” at Bayern

The head of sports sees no trouble due to the late start of the conversation, but they have made an appointment with Lewandowski’s advisors. “I don’t see the fronts getting harder,” said Salihamidzic.

He immediately ruled out that Lewandowski could leave the club this summer. “Lewy is held in the highest esteem there is. The fans love him, we love him at the club,” he said. Lewandowski is a “top man” and the “top earner in the club”.

After the sporting performance and the corona losses, you also have to look at how much money the club has available, said Salihamidzic. “Before the pandemic we had increasing revenues, now we have decreasing revenues and increasing salaries.”
