Modrić is an exceptional cloister on the pitch. Now the Real Madrid midfield star plans his time after the career – and invests in Wales.

The Croatian football star Luka Modrić has entered the British second division club Swansea City as an investor and co -owner. This was announced by the club from Wales on Monday evening. How high the investment is remained unclear. Modrić should “play a key role in getting worldwide attention and bringing it up both and next to the square,” it said in a message.

“Swansea has a strong identity, an incredible fan base and the ambition to play at the highest level,” said Modrić. He is “convinced that I can provide the club my experience as a player at the highest level.” His goal is to “support the growth of the association positively and to help shape an exciting future”.

The participation should not have any influence on Modrić’s player career. The 39-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season. Modrić, who knows Swansea from his time at Tottenham Hotspur, apparently wants to remain.

The “Swans” are currently in the championship in twelve. The move into the play-offs is only theoretically feasible. Most recently, Swansea played in the 2017/18 season in the Premier League.
