Real Madrid tie Ancelotti’s top wildcard Dani Ceballos

Made 46 games in 2022/23

After Toni Kroos and Nacho, Real Madrid has announced the completion of another person: Dani Ceballos will extend his expiring contract with the “Royal” by four years until 2027. The 26-year-old midfielder switched from his training club Betis Sevilla to Real in 2017 for 16.5 million euros, between 2019 and 2021 the right foot ran 77 times on loan for Arsenal in the Premier League.

In the past season, Ceballos proved to be an important support. The 13-time Spain international has played 46 times in all competitions and has had ten goals in 1,939 minutes. He was brought on 27 times as a substitute by coach Carlo Ancelotti, compared to 21 nominations for the starting XI. For comparison: in 2021/22 Ceballos only made 18 appearances and 338 minutes. Very different from this season, where he played in more games than ever before in his career.
