Real Madrid made a surprising statement on Saturday evening and rejected approaches to Michael Olise. “In view of reports in various media about our club’s alleged interest in the FC Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid would like to make it clear that there has been no contact – neither direct nor indirect – with the player in question, his representatives or his entourage,” said the Whites.

“Real Madrid would also like to highlight the excellent institutional relationship that the club maintains with FC Bayern Munich, with whom it shares a long history of mutual respect, cooperation and appreciation. At the same time, the club regrets the spread of speculation that does not correspond to reality,” it continued.
Real Madrid said: “Both clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect. This is reflected, among other things, in the shared belief that any possible interest in a player from the other club should first be discussed between the two clubs themselves – in line with the principles of institutional loyalty that have always characterized the relationship between FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.”
Background: “Marca” recently reported that Real’s 150 million euro offer for Julián Alvarez (26) from city rivals Atlético was just a bluff and that the attention was more focused on Bayern professional Olise. The 24-year-old, currently playing with the French national team at the World Cup, is the actual target because he meets several criteria. The paper speculated that the Madrilenians could increase their offer to over 200 million euros in order to make a transfer of Olise more likely.
FC Bayern makes it clear: Olise is not for sale
Bayern President Herbert Hainer told “Bild” on the sidelines of a fan club visit: “Michael Olise is a FC Bayern Munich player who still has a long contract – and we are not a sales club. If Florentino Pérez (President; editor) wants to send us an offer – which hasn’t been the case so far – he can save himself that.”
Those responsible for the German record champions have been emphasizing for months that they have no interest in selling the Bundesliga’s best preparer. Honorary President Uli Hoeneß made it clear in March that even 200 million euros would not be enough. Supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced in April: “For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us flinch.” And sports director Max Eberl said: “Michael has a contract with us until 2029, without an exit clause – we are relaxed.”
Real, which has had a season without a title, has spent over 100 million euros on a new signing three times in the club’s history – most recently in 2024 for ex-Dortmunder Jude Bellingham. Olise increased his market value from 140 million to 150 million euros as a result of one of the best seasons in Bundesliga history. In doing so, the Bayern attacker equalized the Bundesliga record set by Erling Haaland, who also achieved a valuation of 150 million euros in the Borussia Dortmund jersey in 2022. Olise’s contract in Munich is valid until 2029.
