Real Betis have strengthened their squad with Fluminense’s Luiz Henrique

Among the most expensive deals of the Spaniards

Real Betis are strengthening their squad for the new season with Fluminense winger Luiz Henrique (21). This was announced by Mário Bittencourt, president of the Brazilian club, at a press conference. The club boss not only announced the transfer, but also listed the reasons for the departure and published the figures for the deal.

Accordingly, the Brazilian junior national player changes for 13 million euros for 85 percent of the player rights to the Spanish first division club. While Luiz Henrique will take seventh place at Real Betis in the ranking of the most expensive signings in the club’s history, only Gerson (24) with his move to AS Roma in 2016 provided higher income at Fluminense. According to Bittencourt, a preliminary contract for a transfer during the summer changeover phase was signed last February.

As Bittencourt confirmed, debts from past transfers must be paid to FIFA in the next “ten to 15 days”. In addition, the club must contribute financially to the application for the Maracanã Stadium, where the club usually plays its home games. “I think that Luiz Henrique would have left in the middle of the year anyway, there would have been offers for him. But due to the economic situation, we couldn’t wait,” Bittencourt said (quoted via “mark“), who also went into more detail about the offer from Andalusia: “The salary offer is galactic for his age and he always dreamed of playing there.”

Denilson & Co.: Luiz Henrique becomes the 25th Brazilian in Real Betis’ history

Luiz Henrique becomes the 25th Brazilian in Real Betis club history to join the club. From abroad, the Andalusians only brought more players from Argentina (26). The attacker made twelve appearances in all competitions in the current calendar year, in which he contributed one goal and four assists. Last year he scored seven goals and four assists in 53 games this season.

Real Betis, who are currently in the Spanish upper house in the fight for the European Cup places, continue to tinker with the squad for the new season and, in addition to Luiz Henrique, have probably also convinced Luiz Felipe (24) from Lazio Rome to move to Seville. As recently reported by “Marca”, there is already an agreement between the Spanish club and the defender about a transfer in the summer. The defender would be available on a free transfer as his contract expires.
