Six agents of the Lower Saxon police come to support Dutch agents this weekend on the 100th anniversary of the MotoGP on the TT circuit in Assen.
The agents, all from the Osnabrück police, will deal with traffic control work, including on police engines. In addition, German agents will be involved in operational coordination led by the Dutch police and the organizer of the event and, if necessary, they can ensure fast and direct communication with the German authorities.
“Our task is to guarantee the safety of the spectators together with our Dutch colleagues. But above all we want to be available for the tens of thousands of racing fans from Germany,” said Marco Ellermann, spokesperson for the Osnabrück police. The number of spectators during a race weekend exceeds the 100,000. Many German racing fans are also expected, especially in Assen because of the proximity of the border.
