FC Emmen has won the title in the Kitchen Champion Division tonight. It didn’t do that on its own, because Dick Lukkien’s team lost 1-0 at FC Eindhoven. Because competitor FC Volendam also lost, Emmen is sure of the first title in professional football.
FC Emmen soon faced a deficit due to a goal from Dahlhaus. It turned out to be the only goal in the championship game, because Kharchouch and Burnet, among others, failed to finish the chances.
The good news for FC Emmen came from Dordrecht. There, local FC defeated title competitor FC Volendam 3-2. Due to the defeats of both clubs, the gap between Emmen and Volendam remains six points, and that cannot be bridged with one remaining game.
