The professional jury nominated the five Sifan Hassan, Femke Bol, Karolien Florijn, Marit Bouwmeester and Sharon van Rouwendaal for the women. They have been nominated for the Sportswoman of the Year. Rower Florijn gave the Netherlands Olympic gold in the single sculls for the first time since 1968.
Three teams compete for the title of Sports Team of the Year. These are the 3×3 basketball men with Dimeo van der Horst, Arvin Slagter and Worthy de Jong, the athletes from the mixed 4×400 meter relay with Lieke Klaver and the track cyclists from the team sprint.
