TÜMOSAN Konyaspor Press Spokesperson Mahmut Güzel stated that the referee of the match against Beşiktaş, Arda Kardeşler, directly affected the score of the match.
Mahmut Güzel continued his criticism of the club management towards Arda Kardeşler, the referee of the Konyaspor-Beşiktaş match, at the press conference held at MEDAŞ Konya Metropolitan Stadium with Football Branch Manager Ömer Korkmaz.
Güzel stated that the decisions taken by Arda Kardeşler prevented the match and said:
“In our opinion, in the Beşiktaş match we played on Sunday, referee Arda Kardeşler had an impact on the score of the match. Those who watched the position again clearly saw that even Beşiktaş athlete Aboubakar paused when the ball touched his hand, and even he waited for the referee to call a penalty. But unfortunately referee Arda Kardeşler was a big player. He made a mistake and continued the game. We think our penalty was not awarded on Sunday. What was more dramatic was that VAR did not step in. At the core of the issue is the penalty whistle that Arda Kardeşler did not blow. Unfortunately, the penalty position destroyed all the motivation of our team. The referees’ decisions are up to the teams. “They are playing with their fate. All Konyaspor wants is justice.”
Konyaspor Football Branch Manager Ömer Korkmaz added that they expect the injured striker Cikalleshi to be on the field in the Hatayspor match.
