RBL becomes a franchise partner for the Indian market

The Italian fashion group Tod’s SpA wants to expand its presence in India with a partnership. As part of a long-term franchise agreement, local retailer Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) is now the “official retailer” of the Tod’s label in the Indian market, both companies announced on Monday.

Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd., a subsidiary of the group specializing in the launch and distribution of international fashion brands in India. As part of the partnership, the company will take over management of Tod’s existing sales channels. According to its own statements, the shoe and accessories label has two brand stores in the country in the DLF Emporio shopping center in New Delhi and the Palladium in Mumbai. In addition, it is represented on the online fashion platform Ajio Luxe. The aim of the franchise partnership is now to “increase the potential of the label on the Indian market and to strengthen its digital presence,” the two companies explained.

“We are very pleased to be working with the country’s leading luxury retailer because we believe that our shared passion for quality and a modern and sophisticated lifestyle will allow us to fully realize the potential of this important partnership,” said Carlo Alberto Beretta, who Tod’s general brand manager, in a statement.

RBL is already a partner of numerous well-known fashion brands in India. These include Bally, Bottega Veneta, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Coach, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Ermenegildo Zegna, G-Star Raw, Hugo Boss, Hunkemöller, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo and Versace.
