RB Leipzig will have to do without Xaver Schlager in the near future. The midfielder has to take a break due to adductor problems, as the Saxons announced on Wednesday. Depending on recovery, the downtime is a few weeks.
Schlager was substituted in the 65th minute of the 2-2 home game against Borussia Dortmund with muscular problems in the adductor area. The investigation now revealed a downtime of several weeks. The 28-year-old has started an individual rehabilitation program.
Schlager, who announced his departure in the summer at the beginning of February, appeared 23 times for Leipzig this season and scored two goals. The vice-captain had to miss a few weeks at the start of the season due to a muscle injury.
