RB Leipzig without captain Willi Orbán for months – Dani Olmo is also out

Injuries during international matches

RB Leipzig will have to do without captain Willi Orbán for months. The Saxons announced on Tuesday that the defense chief suffered an injury to his right knee while playing for the Hungarian national team. The exact diagnosis was not given; the downtime is said to be around ten weeks. Orbán was substituted after 60 minutes of Hungary’s friendly against the Czech Republic (1-1) on Sunday.

This makes Orban the second key player to return injured from the international break. Last week, Dani Olmo also injured his knee in a press strike while playing for Spain. RB Leipzig announced that the playmaker will have to miss training for at least the current week and will subsequently miss a few games.

Olmo has three alternatives for the Bundesliga game on Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky) against FC Augsburg. The Austrian Christoph Baumgartner (24), the Portuguese Fábio Carvalho (21) and the Swedish veteran Emil Forsberg (31) can take on the role of the 25-year-old. For Orbán, the French newcomer Castello Lukeba (20) or national player Lukas Klostermann (27) could move into the back four.
