Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig is currently one of the hottest stocks on the transfer market. Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool FC are said to be advertising intensively for the winger, and there has reportedly already been an initial offer. But all efforts could possibly fail. The background is the complicated consultant situation.
As the “kicker” reports, the transfer poker surrounding Diomande is currently taking place under significantly more difficult conditions. According to the report, two agencies continue to argue over who can represent the 19-year-old in contract discussions.
There are now even rumored to be proceedings before the International Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
Diomande moved to the US agency Roc Nation in the winter. His previous advisor Max Gradel disputes this change and points to an exclusive agreement.
All transfer negotiations relating to Diomande must therefore officially take place through his agency Maxidel. This additional agreement will probably only expire at the end of the contract term with RB Leipzig on June 30, 2030.
RB Leipzig rejects 100 million euros
According to “kicker”, there is currently no way for Liverpool FC in particular to avoid the dispute and contact the new Diomande advisors.
Because the English association should have a representation agreement on file, which specifies Maxidel as the sole contact person for the Leipziger. It is “strictly forbidden” to ignore this in England.
PSG, the second major prospect in Diomande Poker, could be similarly limited. Exclusive agreements like those in the case of Diomande and Maxidel are at least permitted in France, according to the “kicker” report.
According to Fabrizio Romano and “Sky”, Liverpool had recently made an initial offer of 100 million euros for Diomande.
The Bundesliga club immediately rejected the offer. The Saxons are demanding a higher sum; according to Romano, the desired price could ultimately be 120 million euros.
A possible change also involves a lot of money for the consultants. There are usually commissions that depend on the amount of the transfer fee and the negotiated contract volume. In the case of Diomande, that would probably be in the millions.
