Bundesliga shooting star Yan Diomande and his national team will face Germany at the World Cup on Saturday (10:00 p.m. CEST). The rumor mill about the Ivorian is bubbling in the background: RB Leipzig supposedly has a mega offer from the English Premier League.
Liverpool FC have submitted an initial offer for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. Transfer reporters Fabrizio Romano and Philipp Hinze from “Sky” report this unanimously.
The Reds are said to have put a total package of a whopping 100 million euros on the table. According to Hinze, it is said to have been made up of around 90 million euros as a fixed sum plus ten million euros as bonus payments.
But: The Bundesliga club immediately rejected the offer. The Saxons are demanding a higher sum; according to Romano, the desired price could ultimately be 120 million euros. At the same time, last season’s third-placed team is trying to convince Diomande to stay. At least, it is said, they want to keep the Ivorian for another season.
Diomande starts at RB Leipzig
According to Sky, they are also prepared to present a new, improved contract in order to persuade Diomande to stay. Liverpool FC are said to have already been informed about the player’s demands and do not see any major hurdles in implementing them.
In the meantime, it is to be expected that Liverpool FC will still have competition in the courting of the 19-year-old. In particular, an offer from Paris Saint-Germain could soon arrive in Leipzig, according to Romano.
The offensive winger only moved from CD Leganés to RB Leipzig last summer for 20 million euros, where he signed a contract until 2030. Under the now fired head coach Ole Werner, Yan Diomande turned out to be one of the great discoveries in his debut season.
He was able to contribute a total of 23 direct goals in 36 competitive games, which even earned him a World Cup nomination. With the Ivory Coast he will face Germany on Saturday.
