RB Leipzig has a new name in the license player squad with midfielder Joyeux Masanka Bungi. According to the Saxons, the contract of the U19 player has automatically converted into a professional contract that now has validity by June 30, 2027.
Masanka Bungi moved from the KRC Genk to the Leipzig offspring in early 2023. For the U19, it has reached 16 missions (two goals) so far. The Belgian junior international, who is currently with a thigh injury, has already trained several times with the professionals and was also part of the US tour last summer.
“Joyeux Masanka Bungi has been showing good development in our young teams since his change in early 2023 and has earned his first professional contract with strong performance. His good understanding of the game, the courageous style of play and his technical skills make him an exciting, young and development -capable player. We know about his potential and are happy to see him on the pitch soon, ”said sports director Marcel Schäfer.
