RB Leipzig brings super talent Benjamin Sesko from Salzburg

Lawn ball sport Leipzig will get a new top scorer in the summer of 2023. The special thing: He comes (once again) from Salzburg.

Striker Benjamin Šeško is moving from Salzburg to Rasenballsport Leipzig. The 19-year-old will come to Saxony in the summer of 2023 and will be given a five-year contract. The clubs announced this on Tuesday. Šeško is already the 19th player to move from the Mozart city to Leipzig.

The Slovenian international has been with Salzburg since 2019 and was loaned out to sister club FC Liefering for two years. Last season he stormed for Salzburg, scored 5 goals in 24 league games and prepared 3 more. Šeško is considered a huge talent, so Manchester United were also reportedly interested.

“Benjamin is a real goalscorer”

Leipzig’s technical director Christopher Vivell commented on the transfer with the words: “Benjamin Šeško is one of the top international talents and has huge potential to become a top player too. He has everything he needs, is extremely fast and has enormous jumping power and is very good in the air. Benjamin is a real goalscorer who, despite his 1.95 meters, is agile and technically strong. His skills make him a special player with a special profile.”

Šeško also commented on his move: “The club’s focus on young players and playing attractive, attacking football suits me perfectly. The city, the stadium and the entire infrastructure at RB Leipzig have me – along with the many good discussions with those responsible at the club – convinced that the step to Leipzig is absolutely the right one.”

Thomas Dähne, Nils Quaschner, Rodnei, Stefan Hierländer, Georg Teigl, Roman Wallner, Yordy Reyna, Benno Schmitz, Stefan Ilsanker, Péter Gulácsi, Bernardo, Konrad Laimer, Hee-chan Hwang, Hannes Wolf, Dayot Upamecano and Amadou have all changed before Šeško Haidara, Naby Keita and Dominik Szoboszlai from Salzburg to Leipzig.
