In the European Championships for under-18s, quite a bit of Finnish superiority was seen when Rasmus Vehmaa ran to win the heat of the 110m hurdles in showmanship in Jerusalem.

Vehmaa won his heat with a time of 13.18. He slackened his pace quite a bit in the last meters, because the difference to those behind him was so big. The time would have been a new race record, but the tailwind (3.7 m/s) was more than allowed. The race record, 13.19, belongs to the British by Sam Bennett on behalf of.

After his run, Vehmaa did not stay to shake hands with other runners, but quickly pushed towards the clothing shelter. The second of Vehma’s heats was Spain’s Eneko Soberanaswhose time was 13.71.

The second fastest runner in the heats was British Daniel Goriolawhose time was 13.40.
