At the end of the 1990s, Hamburg design student Tine Acke met Udo Lindenberg in his hotel “Atlantic”. It works immediately. Tine was in her early 20s and Udo was in his early 50s when they became a couple. The age difference is not a problem for either of them. Acke takes over Lindenberg’s website, she becomes his permanent photographer, documents every tour from then on, designs record covers and even postage stamps.
But as much as both of them are a creative dream team, they hardly ever appear together in public. Pictures in which both can be seen together are rare. That’s why it’s a little belated gift for all Udo fans on his 80th birthday when his girlfriend publishes selfies of the two of them on her Instagram account.
The photographer has posted well over 5,000 entries on Instagram, two with Udo Lindenberg are attracting particular attention. They showed up on a trip to Scotland right on his birthdaynow there is a new photo from a stay on the Isle of Wight in England.
Udo Lindenberg and Tine Acke
Both smile into the camera against a coastal backdrop, the singer in leisure mode, Acke equipped with her work tools. “Two cameras and a supermodel,” she wrote on the entry. It is photo evidence of a quiet but great love. Both made a conscious decision against marriage and children. They share everyday life in Lindenberg’s permanent residence in Hamburg – and go through life scandal-free.
You can find out more about Udo Lindenberg in the current issue of ROLLING STONE (only until Thursday and with Udo vinyl single available). Companions and colleagues remember their time with the musician and we summarize what makes up the master’s (speech) sound. Lindenberg’s long-time friend Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre also talks about his love of traveling.
