The Berlin rapper and actress Nura Habib Omer, known as Nura, says she was “not a good person for a long time”.
The 33-year-old said in the “Time Crime” podcast that she had sold drugs in clubs. “At some point I thought: If I’m in the club all the time anyway, I can earn something on the side, you know? And then I started dealing. I was also really good at dealing drugs.”
During her time with the band SXTN, a hip-hop duo with rap colleague Juju, she trashed hotel rooms. “Today I think: How stupid! My little brother works in a hotel, he has to clean up the mess of ego artists like me.”
She also clashed with the police several times. She was once arrested at carnival “because I got into a fight with a policeman”.
