A new image ranking prepared by CB Consultora Opinión Pública, between May 11 and 15 of this year, once again measured the pulse of the mayors of the Buenos Aires suburbs with conclusive results. The social study was carried out on 14,750 cases in the 24 main municipalities of Greater Buenos Aires. The survey was carried out using online methodology and included quotas by sex, age, educational level and geolocation, with an average margin of error of between 3 and 4 percent.
The first place was obtained Jaime Mendez de San Miguel leading the ranking with a positive image differential +26.5 points. Behind them were Leonardo Nardini, from Malvinas Argentinas, with +25.2, and Federico Otermín, from Lomas de Zamora, with +22.6. Further back appear Federico Achával, from Pilar, with +21.3; Fernando Gray, from Esteban Echeverría, with +17.3; and Juan José Fabiani, from Almirante Brown, with +15.1. Gastón Granados, Julio Zamora and Jorge Ferraresi also make up the highest rated lot.
In the middle of the table were Mariel Fernández, Soledad Martínez, Fernando Espinoza, Lorena Espina, Ariel Sujarchuk and Eva Mieri, among other leaders who maintain a positive balance or slight deterioration in their numbers. The other side of the survey is carried out by the mayors with a negative differential, which was in last place for Julián Álvarez, communal chief of Lanús, with -16 points.
Just above the Camporista leader were Gustavo Menéndez, from Merlo, with -15.8, and Fernando Moreira, from General San Martín, with -15. Adverse numbers were also recorded by Lucas Ghi in Morón, Pablo Descalzo in Ituzaingó and Ramón Lanús in San Isidro, all with a negative image greater than a positive one. The report also highlighted that Ariel Sujarchuk, mayor of Escobar, was the leader who improved the most compared to April, rising 5.7 points in his image differential. On the other hand, on the other hand, Federico Achával suffered the steepest drop, with a drop of 5.8 points.

For some time now, the mayor of La Cámpora has faced questions from different political, union and neighborhood sectors linked mainly to insecurity, the municipal labor situation and the management of public resources. One of the most recurring criticisms comes from the same neighbors who denounce an increase in criminal acts in the district and an insufficient response from the local Security area.
In this context, there were mobilizations in front of the municipality and strong disagreements with former Secretary of Security Diego Kravetz, whom Álvarez himself accused of promoting neighborhood protests. At the same time, local media and opposition leaders maintain that there is unrest due to the state of the streets, the accumulation of garbage and the lack of urban maintenance in different neighborhoods of Lanús. Another source of conflict arose from the dismissals of workers linked to the urban sweeping and cleaning service.
Furthermore, business and opposition sectors had previously questioned increases in municipal rates and the leadership style of the communal chief, whom some opposition leaders accuse of prioritizing internal political disputes over the daily management of the district.
