Rammstein have released the music video for “Adieu” – is this the end?

On Thursday (November 24th), Rammstein shared the almost nine-minute music video for “Adieu” from their current record “Zeit”. Meanwhile, the fans are speculating whether the group is announcing their musical end for the time being.

In the lyrics of the track: “There is no better time than death”

A lot has happened in the Rammstein cosmos this year: a new album, an announced stadium tour for 2023 and a total of five elaborately realized music videos (“Zeit”, “Zick Zack”, “Angst”, “Big Tits” and “Adieu”) .

In the most recent production of “Adieu”, the musicians can be seen as villains willing to fight in a science fiction world. The band members raid a futuristic building where the “Damned,” as the credits say, are being held. Lyrically, the group provides various references to the end of life, for example with “Only death is the rule of time” or “You rise quietly from life / The soul goes on a quiet journey”.

Here is the music video:

The fans speculate: Is this the end of Rammstein?

A user posts under the video on Twitter: “Guys can anyone enlighten me? Has this been the end now?

Another person asks, “Why does this make me sad?”

To which one Twitter user replies, “Because it feels like the end :(.”

Rammstein themselves have not (yet) commented on the meaning of “Adieu”.
