On June 9th, after 26 years of the original publication of “Longing”, an anniversary edition will be launched. Fans share their memories on Instagram.
On June 9, 2023, Rammstein will release their album “Sehnsucht” from August 1997 as an “Anniversary Edition”. They announced this on their Instagram account. Before that, a video was shared in which the band can be seen without make-up and intimately in the rehearsal room: on April 18, 1997, before a performance that took place in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. The rehearsal was then filmed by “Bravo TV”. The next day, Rammstein played “Engel” for the first time and on TV.

One user shared the following memory of the song in the comments column: “Once upon a time in an Austrian nightclub, there was a strange song with whistles at the beginning. The dance floor emptied, I was the only one who didn’t leave. I was hooked from the start because it was something new for me (sorry but I shouldn’t have been in a nightclub in 1997 when I was 16, so I didn’t discover you guys sooner) and I’ve loved you guys ever since. I don’t remember the name of the nightclub or if it still exists, but I will never forget that moment of ‘being in love’.”

For the anniversary, the group around Till Lindemann released the work on CD in HD sound and remastered. As announced on Instagram in a posting on the official Rammstein page, there will also be “extensively revised artwork with unpublished photos of the band by Gottfried Helnwein” and a “remixed version of ‘Spiel Mit Mir'”. Helnwein’s booklet has 40 pages.
