Okan Güler, nicknamed “Rambo Okan”, who tried to take down the flag hung on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge due to Trabzonspor’s championship, was detained.
The flag of Trabzonspor, the champion of the 2021-2022 season in the Süper Toto Super League, was hung on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge on 1 May. At around 11.20 am, the Istanbul Police Department Sports Security Branch Office, which examined the images of a person trying to cut the ropes of the Trabzonspor flag, started work. The suspect of the incident, Okan Güler, nicknamed ‘Rambo Okan’, was caught as a result of the work carried out in Küçükçekmece district on the same day. When the suspect, who was caught, was asked whether he carried out the incident on the bridge, he declared that he cut the flag ropes on the bridge himself. Okan Güler, nicknamed ‘Rambo’, was taken into custody and taken to Çengelköy Police Station. It was learned that the proceedings of Güler here continue.
