The former Williams F1 driver joined his partner in Saint-Tropez: after the ceremony, three-day celebrations ending in the exclusive seaside resort
Just under two years after coming out, Ralf Schumacher – brother of former Ferrari driver Michael – married his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne for the second time in a sumptuous ceremony in Saint-Tropez. Three days of celebrations that began on Saturday and will end today, June 1st, immortalized by the cameras of Sky, which is producing a four-part TV series about them: “Ralf & Etienne: Wir sagen Ja”, “Let’s say yes”.

Schumacher, 50, and Bousquet-Cassagne, 36, a former Front National candidate and now manager of the former driver’s wine company, chose the Côte d’Azur for their ceremony, where they also own a villa not far from Saint-Tropez. Many guests were invited to the party, already “blessed” also by his ex-wife Cora, who at the time of Ralf’s coming out had said she was “furious at the deception suffered for years”, to the point of setting fire to the dress in which the two had married in 2001. Water under the bridge, given that today Cora and her new partner, Steven Bo Bejendam, wished the newlyweds the best and much happiness. No social comments from his son David, who also recently got married to his partner Vivien, and his nephew Mick, busy in Detroit for IndyCar. Absent, of course, is his brother Michael Schumacher, who suffered a serious skiing accident in Méribel 13 years ago.

For their big day, Ralf and Étienne chose a coordinated look: dark blue suits paired with light blue ties, perfectly in line with the elegant atmosphere of the day. The ceremony took place in the town hall, in front of a small audience of close friends and relatives. After the civil ceremony, the party moved to the sea, in one of the most famous locations in the area, the Bouillabaisse beach. A party that lasted until sunset and which had its most evocative moment in the fireworks lit in the sky above the sea to celebrate the couple.
