Sky Sports formula expert and former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher is convinced that the operator of the AlphaTaur of Nyck de Vries the days in the stable are coming to an end. The expert tells Sky about de Vries’ possible firing in the interview.

– The decision has been made, I’m pretty sure of it. He did well, and it’s a shame that he probably won’t be able to drive in the Dutch GP, says Schumacher in an interview.

De Vries has had a difficult season so far. The Dutch driver has not scored a single point this season, and at his best he has reached 12th place in Monaco.

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko told Sky Sports at the beginning of July that he has given de Vries until the summer break of the F1 series to raise his performance level. There are still two races left before the summer break.

The return of a legend?

According to Schumacher, AlphaTauri would have found a replacement for de Vries. According to the expert Daniel Ricciardo would be returning to the wheel of an F1 car. According to Schumacher, Ricciardo would bring the necessary experience to the AlphaTauri team.

Ricciardo’s return to F1 has been rumored for a long time. However, Helmut Marko said earlier that Ricciardo would only be interested in returning to a top team, which AlphtaTauri is not.

Ricciardo, who won eight GPs in his career, last raced last season behind the wheel of McLaren. Ricciardo has said before Crash.net’s in the interview that Red Bull is the team he wants to join.

AlphaTauri is part of the Red Bull group, so driving the team’s car could pave the way back to Red Bull’s wheel.

The Red Bull team could possibly also have a place available in the near future, when the pressure is on by Sergio Perez around have grown up. Perez, who started the season strongly, has been struggling in the last few races, and he has lost his teammate Max Verstappen’s speed up regularly.

The smith of his own luck

AlphaTaur’s team leader Franz Tostin de Vries still has a chance to prevent all this from happening. The team manager emphasizes that everything is still in de Vries’ own hands.

– If he drives well, why should we change him? I’m sure Nyck can do a good job. The results show the rest, says Tost.
